Our Faith: God's Great Gift is the Sixth Grade textbook in the Our Holy Faith series, based on the first half of the Revised Baltimore Catechism No. 2 (Confraternity Edition).

This is the Student Textbook for the Sixth Grade.

Building upon the foundations laid in the earlier grades, this volume begins a more advanced study of the Baltimore Catechism, presenting the Catholic Faith as one of God's greatest gifts—a treasure to be cherished, strengthened, and protected.

Beginning with God the Father and the mystery of the Blessed Trinity, the lessons explore Creation, the Fall of Man, the Incarnation and Redemption, the Holy Ghost and His gifts, and the Catholic Church. The course concludes with the duties we owe to God, particularly the first three Commandments, helping children understand how the truths they believe should guide the lives they lead.

Following the series' distinctive method, each doctrine is explained before the corresponding catechism questions and answers are presented for memorization. Illustrated lessons, review exercises, discussion questions, and practical activities help students understand the Faith and apply it to their daily lives.

Part of the Our Holy Faith series of traditional Catholic religion textbooks, Our Faith: God's Great Gift is faithfully reprinted from the original 1959 edition, preserving its text, illustrations, and instructional content without modernization or adaptation. Thorough and orthodox in their presentation of Catholic doctrine, these books have served generations of Catholic children and remain valuable resources for families, schools, and homeschoolers today.

Available in economical softcover and durable hardcover editions.

Q: Can my child begin the Our Holy Faith series with Sixth Grade?

A: Yes. Although the books are designed to build upon one another, each grade provides a complete course of religious instruction appropriate to its intended age group. A child who has already received a solid foundation in the Faith can begin with Our Faith: God's Great Gift without having studied the earlier volumes.

Q: How does Sixth Grade fit into the rest of the Our Holy Faith series?

A: Sixth Grade begins a new three-year course based on the Revised Baltimore Catechism No. 2, which presents Catholic doctrine in greater depth than the No. 1 Catechism studied in Third and Fifth Grades. After completing the first half of the Catechism in this volume, students devote Seventh Grade to Bible History and Church History in Christ in Promise, in Person, and in His Church. They then return to the Catechism in Eighth Grade, completing its second half in To Live Is Christ.

Q: Can this textbook be used for homeschooling without the Teacher's Manual?

A: The student textbook contains the course material and can be used independently. However, the accompanying Teacher's Manual is a useful resource for homeschooling parents, providing unit summaries, supplementary reference materials, and answers to the chapter review questions. These resources can help parents guide their children's studies, check their understanding, and reinforce the material covered in each chapter.
