Designed to accompany the student textbook, this manual provides a structured course of study for preparing children for First Confession and First Holy Communion.
Unlike the First Grade manual, which contains extensive instructional material, the Second Grade manual is organized primarily around daily teaching charts. Each pair of facing pages brings together two complementary aspects of religious instruction:

Things to Know: Subject matter, student textbook assignments, connections to the Church year, and prayers and hymns.

Things to Do: Virtues and practices, suggested learning activities, and references to supplementary teaching materials.
The manual also includes unit introductions, objectives, and suggested teaching procedures, helping teachers develop the lessons and connect religious knowledge with the practice of Catholic life.
For homeschooling families: This manual is best understood as a structured course of study rather than a complete teaching script. Some lessons require the parent to supply additional explanations, and certain suggested activities refer to supplementary materials that may no longer be readily available. The manual nevertheless provides valuable guidance for organizing the course, reinforcing its teachings, and encouraging children to put their Faith into practice.
