God's Truths Help Us Live is the Third Grade textbook in the Our Holy Faith series, based on the first half of the Revised Baltimore Catechism No. 1 (Confraternity Edition).
This is the Teacher's Manual for the Third Grade.
Designed to accompany the student textbook, this manual provides a detailed course of instruction for teaching the fundamental truths of the Catholic Faith.
Each unit begins with objectives and an outline of the subject matter, followed by numbered lesson plans that guide the teacher through the material. These include teaching objectives, suggested presentations and explanations, discussion questions, practical applications, and assignments. Unit reviews and evaluations help reinforce what the children have learned.
The manual follows the series' distinctive approach to catechetical instruction: explaining the truths of the Faith before asking children to memorize the corresponding Baltimore Catechism questions and answers. Its lessons aim not merely at knowledge, but at fostering the virtues of faith, hope, and charity and helping children put their religion into practice.
For homeschooling families: Although originally written for classroom teachers, the lesson plans provide substantial guidance that can be adapted to one-on-one instruction or a small group. Some suggested activities and supplementary references may require adaptation or substitution.
Part of the Our Holy Faith series of traditional Catholic religion textbooks, this volume is faithfully reprinted from the original 1959 edition, preserving its teaching methods, suggested activities, and instructional guidance without modernization or adaptation. Thorough and orthodox in their presentation of Catholic doctrine, these books have served generations of Catholic children and remain valuable resources for families, schools, and homeschoolers today.
NOTE: This Teacher's Manual accompanies the Third Grade student textbook, God's Truths Help Us Live, available separately.
